About kelp

KELP are an alternative rock band from Greater Manchester, made up of Alfie, Finn, Reuben and Fred.

After a few failed attempts at starting a band, a couple of name changes and some lineup changes, KELP eventually came together as something that felt right. The band are built around a shared love of alternative rock, and are still finding their feet, figuring out their sound and seeing where it takes them.

Things have already started moving, with KELP playing alongside bands they’ve looked up to, including supporting Sisters in October and Stepover in November. They’re also set to play a Manchester festival in December, with more gigs in the works.

Their debut single, “Wear the Scars”, is out now. The track is about dealing with the shit life throws at you, learning from it and carrying those experiences with you without letting them define who you are.

Looking ahead, KELP are working towards their debut EP, with plans to play more shows across Greater Manchester and further afield, including Liverpool and Leeds.

They’re still early on in the journey, but there’s plenty coming. This is only the beginning.

Come and see us live...
